Student Research Collaboration Hub (SRC Hub)
Organized by: CMU-Africa Research Club
Submit Your ProjectThe CMU-Africa Research Club proudly introduces the Student Research Collaboration Hub (SRC Hub) โ an initiative designed to boost student research output and foster meaningful collaborations across all experience levels.
The SRC Hub provides a central platform where students with innovative research ideas โ from coursework, capstone projects, or independent exploration โ can connect with peers and faculty to turn their ideas into publishable, high-quality research contributions.
Objectives
The SRC Hub aims to:
Increase student research output at CMU-Africa by promoting collaboration and mentorship.
Facilitate publications in top-tier conferences and journals across engineering, AI, and interdisciplinary fields.
Foster a studentโfaculty research culture that supports long-term impact, knowledge exchange, and mentorship.
Initiatives
1 Student Project Advertisement
Students can share their individual or group research projects through the SRC Hub. Each primary researcher submits a proposal including:
- Problem statement and research gap
- Background and related work
- Proposed methodology and approach
- Required skills (e.g., coding, data analysis, writing)
- Proposed timeline and milestones
- Expected outcomes (e.g., publication, prototype, dataset)
A collaboration advert will accompany each proposal so peers can join projects based on interest and skill.
๐ธ Important: Every project must have a faculty supervisor to provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship.
2 Research Assistant Collaboration
Research Assistants (RAs) currently working on faculty-led projects can also post opportunities on the SRC Hub.
RAs submit:
- A brief description of the ongoing project
- Required skills and expected contributions from collaborators
- Approval from the supervising professor
This initiative enables hands-on collaboration under structured mentorship, allowing peers to contribute meaningfully while gaining valuable research experience.
